What You’ll Do:
This Clinical Medical Assistant position is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume, procedure-based setting. You'll be a key part of our clinical team, supporting our providers in delivering exceptional dermatologic and surgical care.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures, including skin checks, biopsies, excisions
Assist during dermatologic procedures with precision and professionalism
Accurately document patient visits using EMA (Modernizing Medicine)
Maintain clean, stocked, and organized procedure rooms
Sterilize instruments following protocol and safety standards
Triage patient calls and relay medically relevant messages
Submit prescription refills per provider instruction
Ensure pathology and lab reports are uploaded and ready for follow-up visits
Contribute to a culture of teamwork, respect, and high standards of care

Prior Dermatology MA experience is required
Proficient with EMA/Modernizing Medicine
A calm, organized multitasker with outstanding communication and patient care skills

Job Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Mohs Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly support the specialized field of Mohs surgery—an advanced technique used to treat skin cancer with precision and care. In this vital role, you will assist dermatologists and surgical staff by preparing patients, managing clinical workflows, and ensuring a seamless experience for every individual. Duties:

Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for Mohs procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready.
Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and explaining procedural steps clearly.
Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation to support accurate clinical assessments.
Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, managing specimen labeling, and maintaining sterile techniques.
Operate ModMed/EMA system efficiently to document patient information, procedure details, and treatment notes accurately.
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing reassurance and addressing questions about physiology or anatomy relevant to their treatment.
Administer medications or topical agents as directed by medical staff following proper protocols for medication administration.
Assist with post-procedure patient education on wound care, follow-up appointments, and medication instructions.
Maintain clinical supplies inventory, sterilize instruments including X-ray equipment if applicable, and ensure compliance with safety standards at all times.
Support administrative tasks such as taking medically relevant patient phone calls, calling in prescriptions and refills at the direction of the provider, etc.

Experience:

Candidates should bring a strong foundation in medical assisting within a dermatology environment. Prior experience working in Mohs surgery is highly valued. Familiarity with ModMed/EMA is essential. Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality dermatologic care under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical and cosmetic skin conditions, performing dermatologic procedures, and contributing to patient education and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

Perform comprehensive skin evaluations, including full-body skin exams
Diagnose and manage common dermatologic conditions (e.g., acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea)
Identify and manage suspicious lesions, including skin cancer detection
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician

Procedures

Perform biopsies (shave, punch, excisional)
Assist with or independently perform minor surgical procedures (depending on experience and state regulations)

Patient Education

Counsel patients on treatment plans, skincare, and preventive measures
Educate on sun protection and skin cancer awareness

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR)
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical protocols
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Collaboration
Work closely with dermatologists, medical assistants, and administrative staff
Participate in case discussions and team meetings

Qualifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
Active state license and national certification
2-4 years of APP experience
DEA license (or ability to obtain)
Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills

Preferred

Experience with dermatologic procedures
Familiarity with dermatology EMR systems
